How to fix BitLocker incorrect password
If BitLocker won't accept the PIN, and it doesn't let you reset it, do the following from the blue BitLocker screen:
- Press ESC
- Click 'Skip this drive'
- Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Command Prompt
In the command prompt enter:
- manage-bde -status
- manage-bde -unlock C: -RecoveryPassword YOUR-RECOVERY-KEY
- manage-bde -off C:
It will then begin decrypting the drive. It doesn't automatically show the status of decryption, so every now and then enter manage-bde -status. Depending on the amount of data encrypted this could take over an hour. Once it shows 0% encrypted, restart.
